Siemens Smart Infrastructure intelligently connects energy systems, buildings, and industries, helping them adapt and evolve with the world around them. In the Data Center segment, we enable customers with resilient, reliable, and sustainable electrification solutions that keep the digital world running 24/7.

As a Project Engineer you work together with the project team on MV and LV switchgear, modular movable units, E-house/Skids, for the energy supply of data centers. The team engages in the detailed design, coordination, preparation of technical documents and preparation for installation and commissioning. These units are equipped with electrical power distribution systems, for both low and medium voltage. The emphasis is on assembling the units, in which many interfaces must be considered. Both mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems.

The short lead times and high demands of our customers ensure a lot of dynamics during the realization.

Responsibilities of the Role:
• Management of project specific delivery processes
• Consultation with clients to establish requirements and scope of work
• Leading the development of electrical design and project documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, on schedule and on budget
• Providing on-going support to our customers
• Supporting and driving a HSEQ centric culture within the company
• Providing leadership for overall designing, modification, upgrades, and maintenance of project specific design
• Ensuring practices meet the relevant Australian/New Zealand regulatory requirement and company's global practices
• Assist in preparation of drafting for approval purposes and submissions.
• Maintain a quality system, eliminating the potential for error wherever possible. This applies equally to the safety of personnel and the environment

• Electrical and mechanical testing and commissioning support
• Provide technical support to project package managers
• Coordinate designs in accordance with Siemens procedures
• Control and manage technical interfaces between disciplines, and with equipment suppliers and subcontractors
• Coordinate design and installation drawings for project specific requirements
• Provide written reports and documentation on engineering activities as required
• Support field implementation and commissioning activities
• Use of electrical design software and a range of 2D/3D electrical software packages.
• Responsible for electrical drawings of LV electrical systems including main switchboards, distribution boards & control panels
• Develop and manage standard designs and parts libraries.
• Conduct research and apply relevant information found to generate electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of all relevant standards including but not limited to:
• Australian Electrical Wiring Standards
• Electrical Symbol and Drawing Standards
• Switchboard Standards (AS/NZS 61439.1)
• Identify and take action to mitigate risk in electrical design.
• Continuously building knowledge, keeping up to date on the technical and procedural aspects of the role.
• Deliver the following electrical design deliverables: Single Line Drawings (SLD), termination diagrams, General Arrangement, Detailed Design and ‘As Built’ Schematics.
• Address requirements that may relate to layout, component selection, fire safety, cooling, mechanical interfacing, auxiliary electrical systems, and cabling (such as lighting, exhaust, fire alarm).
• Aligning the interfaces with colleagues who are responsible for designing low voltage distribution, medium voltage, and rail duct systems.
• Review technical basic and detailed designs.
• Organizing and attending factory tests (FAT) with the customer.
• Prepare documentation. E.g., project specific operation and maintenance manuals.

Working at Siemens is exciting. Not only because of the impact you can make, but also because of the benefits we offer to make your work and life more enjoyable. We attach excellent value and encourage personal growth through experience and training.
