University Relations (UR) is a strategic function within Talent Acquisition (TA) at Siemens Digital Industries Software. Our team’s mission is to attract, select, and retain the best, next generation of talent, and we are seeking an experienced recruitment professional to join our team in Japan.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading all early career recruitment activities in the country, including establishing strong relationships with local business leaders and universities. You will also support early career programming in Japan, including onboarding, learning & development initiatives, and fostering an environment of connection and inclusion. You will also have the opportunity to support recruitment activities in additional Asia Pacific countries, once operations in Japan have been established.

This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented TA professional who is passionate about student talent, and seeking leadership experience, ownership, and business influence within a global organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Talent Sourcing:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key universities.
    • Implement effective sourcing strategies, including social media and other online platforms, such as LabBase.
  • Campus Recruitment:
    • Plan and execute job fairs, information sessions, and other workshops at target universities
    • Champion the Siemens Software brand with students, including company culture, values, and career opportunities
    • Manage the planning and execution of recruitment strategy:
      • Use market data to inform decision making
      • Inform the business of key timelines for the local market
      • Coordinate all necessary scheduling and budgeting
      • Plan recruitment marketing – ad placements, and other PR methods
  • Candidate Screening and Selection:
    • Scout proactively, maintain a pipeline of potential candidates
    • Review resumes and other application documents (entry sheets)
    • Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidate fit and potential
    • Collaborate with hiring managers, maintaining consistent communication
    • Coordinate schedules for selection processes
    • Attend final interviews, planning and executing candidate follow-up
  • Maintain Strong Stakeholder Relationships:
    • Understand early career talent needs of local business leaders
    • Proactively communicate with recruitment vendors, hiring managers, HR business partners, and finance controllers to ensure alignment with early career hiring plans
  • Program Management
    • Support onboarding of early careers hires
    • Help to execute programming required – such as learning and development plans, performance evaluations, and professional networking events
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (business professional)
  • 3+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, incl. University Recruitment
  • Deep knowledge of the Japanese university recruitment market
  • Strong presentation skills and event management experience
  • High organization and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional customer service mindset
  • Able to balance global standards, while discerning when local market nuances may be required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • MS Office skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to / expertise in the following tools is a plus: Workday (HRIS), LinkedIn Recruiter, Yello (event management), Canva, CapCut
