Field Service Engineer
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be the trusted expert on-site, delivering commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance for a range of Siemens Digital Industries solutions. Your work will help customers achieve optimal performance through reliable automation, efficient drive systems, and seamless process integration.
You’ll work across a diverse set of projects and industries, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams to provide both immediate technical support and long-term system improvements.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain Siemens automation and drive systems — both on-site and remotely.
• Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of Siemens solutions, including SINAMICS drives, SIMOCRANE motion control systems, and SIMOTICS motors.
• Configure, integrate, and test automation and SCADA platforms such as SIMATIC PCS 7, WinCC, and SICAM, including communication protocols like PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and Modbus.
• Work with Siemens process instrumentation (SITRANS, SIPART) for measurement and control applications.
• Deliver technical support and hands-on training to customers on Siemens automation, drives, and process technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop tailored automation and digitalization solutions.
• Support project planning, cost estimates, and execution activities.
• Ensure all work complies with Siemens quality, safety, and industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
• 5–10 years of proven field service experience with Siemens automation and control systems.
• Strong technical expertise in industrial automation, drives, and process instrumentation.
• Experience with SIMATIC PCS 7, WinCC, SINAMICS drives, and SIMOCRANE motion control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of SIPROTEC or SICAM systems for automation and protection integration is advantageous.
• Bonus points for experience with Ship-to-Shore (STS) and Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes or other complex motion control applications.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with a customer-first mindset.
• Willingness to travel locally, interstate, and occasionally internationally.
