Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a Production Manager for our Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit, with a focus on the Protection and Automation Panels line. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.

We are looking for a Production Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will lead the production activities for our Protection and Automation Panels assembly line in Wendell, NC. You will manage the production activities, managing and reporting Operational KPIs and OKRs, and overseeing operational improvements. You will also lead, plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day production operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
You will make an impact by:
- Lead Daily Operations: Oversee and optimize day-to-day production activities to exceed customer expectations, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals.
- Continuous Improvement & 6S: Champion 6S initiatives and drive process improvements to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and enhance throughput across operations.
- Strategic Planning & Investment: Plan and direct investments to boost productivity and expand capacity in line with sales volumes and manufacturing strategy.
- Resource & Inventory Management: Allocate resources effectively, optimize inventory levels, and ensure accurate tracking of production orders and hours in Salesforce.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, support technical updates, and implement targeted improvements in collaboration with the Technical Department.
- Leadership & Culture Development: Foster a culture of ownership and engagement, develop emerging leaders, and actively participate in audits and customer visits.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to shop floor personnel on new processes, equipment, or procedures developed by the engineering team.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to operational procedures and engineering solutions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in both operations and engineering roles.
- Proven experience in issue resolution, process improvement, and project management.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read, understand and evaluate electrical/mechanical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
- Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL508A, and Industrial Control Panels
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with high quality and in a professional manner.
- Technical knowledge of the Electrical Products industry.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Experience with electrical/Mechanical design for Industrial Control Panels
- Electrical design/drafting experience with Engineering Base (Microsoft Visio) and/or AutoCAD Electrical
- Working knowledge of standard protection and control technologies used in medium voltage power distribution products.
- Working knowledge of industrial control panel product manufacturers.
- Ability to create, convert & modify drawings with Mechanical/Electrical Siemens NX and Teamcenter
