Manager EHS
Location : Mumbai
Functional Area: EHS, Project management, Operations & Maintenance
What are my responsibilities?
§ Support the DI SE BU management in maintaining an effective EHS Management System with processes for the effective planning, organization, control, monitoring, review, and maintenance of the preventive and corrective measures.
§ As BU EHS Officer, you will lead the team of 15 to 20 EHS officers/stewards/marshals/ contractor EHS officers. You shall maintain EHS Organization in DI SE BU and improve competency of the team members by driving professional and personal development of all EHS team members.
§ Actively drive the integration of EHS aspects in the Business processes and PM@Siemens quality gates. Participate in bid phase of the Plant maintenance service (PMS) contracts / Service / Project Orders to understand customer EHS requirements (Equipments, Competency, Training, experience, PTW / LOTO, etc.) and accordingly plan for the Orders with Business. Conduct EHS due diligence for PMS contracts/ Retrofit activities.
§ Maintain and foster collaboration with RC IN EHS, DI EHS HQ, DI EHS and other EHS teams across India.
§ Ensure implementation of Siemens EHS KPIs reporting system (EHS dashboards, incident reporting & investigations, Quentic or equivalent incident management system, etc.) on all sites with focus on monitoring and continual improvement.
§ Drive CAPA initiatives, sharing of lesson learnt and tracking completion of action points.
- Regularly visit Service / project sites, interact with customer, sub-contractors and project teams on EHS topics and ensure compliance to agreed protocols / requirements.
- Carry out site EHS risk assessments, contractor EHS evaluations and qualifications in accordance with defined processes within RC IN EHS
- Engage and interface with project managers, site teams and sub-contractors at various sites and ensure adherence to the EHS processes through direct intervention
- Identify, conduct, and facilitate EHS training of Siemens and Service Partner manpower and evaluate effectiveness of such trainings
- Conduct periodic site assessments and drive implementation Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) for areas of improvement
- Plans and maintains, in coordination with DI EHS officer, adequate and competent EHS resources at sites to execute the defined scope of work safely.
- Reports to DI EHS head (functionally) , BU Head (administratively) with dotted line reporting to Global DI SE EHS officer / country EHS head
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Experience:
- Overall, 15+ years of successful industry experience in driving EHS System Implementation / Project Management / Operation & Maintenance Management. Minimum 10 years hands on experience in EHS domain in driving and implementing EHS systems.
- Experience in managing safety / Project management teams in complex project / service sites (Operation & Maintenance) will be an added advantage.
- Hands on knowledge of Switchyard, HT & LT infrastructure, utilities like DG sets, compressors, chillers, HVAC, storage tanks, cooling towers, material handling equipment, cranes, electrical panels (PCC, MCC) etc.
Education & Training:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- EHS related recognized qualifications (e.g., ADIS) or MTech/ME industrial safety from reputed govt or govt recognized college.
- Evidenced training/expertise in the broader spectrum of EHS topics (Ex NEBOSH, CSP)
- Expert level knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system, statutory requirements like factory act/IE rules/NBC/CEA 2023 etc and implementing/ managing management system elements.
