We are currently recruiting a highly experienced and skilled Head of Quality Management and Business Excellence for Siemens Mobility Limited operating at Business Unit Leadership level to drive Quality of Maintenance in our Depot Operations Environment across multiple UK Locations. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies that drive business transformation and continuous process improvement whilst ensuring ongoing compliance and development of management systems within the organisational structure.
Working site independently, you will work and liaise closely with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of excellence and deliver impactful results across the business.
You’ll make a difference by
- Driving train fleet performance through quality tools, enhancing availability and reliability across UK depots and manufacturing sites.
- Leading the development of project quality management, in partnership with the Head of CS Projects & PMO, to ensure excellence in delivery.
- Ensuring governance and compliance with certified standards, including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO27001, RISQS, RISAS, and ECM, through robust management systems.
- Reducing the cost of quality across operations and projects, identifying efficiencies and delivering measurable savings to the business.
- Leading and mentoring a high-performing quality team, executing impactful audits and fostering a culture of transparency, excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Championing the use of quality and improvement tools, such as 8D, 5 Whys, and RCA, to solve problems and drive root cause analysis.
- Leveraging AI and digital solutions, to boost productivity and support strategic business goals.
- Aligning business excellence strategies across functions, facilitating change and embedding Lean/Agile methodologies, ensuring the consistent and rigorous application of practices that make us attractive to customers and suppliers.
- Ensuring a quality-oriented mindset across the organisation, promoting role models, sharing best practices, and driving ownership at all levels.
- Planning and managing the BE&QM budget, ensuring optimal allocation of financial and personnel resources to support business goals.
Your success will be grounded by
- Demonstrable experience of developing value through Quality in front-line operations supported by relevant qualifications such as Lead Auditor or recognised CQI professional qualifications.
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or similar or relevant experience.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert qualification.
- Extensive experience with ISO-certified systems and Industry Standards, applying them effectively across complex operational and project environments.
- A strong track record in leading high-profile change initiatives, supported by excellent change and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence in using data and digital tools, especially within quality systems, to drive insights, improvements, and strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills, enabling collaboration across all levels of the organisation and with external partners.
- A proactive mindset and familiarity with excellence frameworks such as EFQM, with the ability to embed best practices and foster an improvement culture.
