Starting Salary: £25,354 per annum
Location: Congleton
Start Date: June 2026
Duration: 12 months

Join us at Siemens and kickstart your career in a place where innovation meets inclusion. Whether you're passionate about tech, people, sustainability, or strategy - we’ve got a role that will challenge and inspire you.

Why Siemens?

This isn’t just a job, it’s a journey. You’ll be part of a vibrant early career’s community, solving real business challenges, learning from experts, and growing every day. We care about your success, your wellbeing, and your future.

What Makes Our Process Different?

No CV Bias: We’re changing the game. Your CV will need to be attached but won’t be seen by the hiring team until the final stage of the recruitment process. We focus on potential, not past experience.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

You’ll be based on-site at our Congleton R&D labs, working alongside experienced engineers on live development projects. This hands-on environment is key to helping you learn, connect, and thrive.

Your role will include:

  • Learning in detail how electronic variable speed drives are used to control motors and explore their role in real-world industrial settings
  • Working with innovative technologies that help factories become more energy-efficient, reduce costs, and lower their environmental impact
  • Gaining hands-on experience building, setting up, and testing electrical systems and hardware
  • Investigating and solving problems in hardware and system configurations using structured analysis techniques
  • Using simulation software to design and test electrical circuits
  • Keeping clear records of your work, including technical notes and results from experiments and tests

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. You don’t need to tick every box - if you’re curious, motivated, and ready to learn, we want to hear from you.

  • Currently studying towards a degree in electronic or electrical engineering, ICT, industrial communications, control engineering, or another related field
  • Confident communicating ideas clearly and collaborating with others
  • Excited to explore new technologies and expand your knowledge
  • Proactive in working to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities
  • Committed to working responsibly and promoting a zero-harm culture
  • Comfortable using basic tools and test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Motivated to get stuck in and help find practical solutions
  • Familiarity with electronic simulation tools is a plus, but not essential

What’s In It For You?

  • 26 days paid holiday + 5 volunteering days.
  • Discounts on everyday spending.
  • Subsidised gym memberships.
  • Participate in the Intern Collaboration Project, working across departments with likeminded interns on a passion project of your choice.
  • An induction week alongside your Early Careers cohort; build your network and get to know Siemens.
  • A celebration at our Early Careers Gala when you complete your programme!

Belonging Transforms

We are fully committed to providing equal opportunities and building an inclusive workplace where a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives thrive. We embrace the many ways people think, learn, and experience the world because we know that diverse minds drive innovation. If your application makes it to the assessment stage of our process, please reach out to the recruiter who has been in contact with you and let us know of any requirements you have.
