Position Overview:

As an Equipment Operator I, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently operating equipment involved in the installation and maintenance of bogies on Rail Vehicles

What your day may look like:

• Efficiently load long assemblies, crates, and bundles onto flat cars or truck trailers following proper procedures.
• Operate Straddle Carrier equipment to move long items from one location to another.
• Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials, and instructions, complete required documentation.
• Safely use hand and power tools, with certifications for cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Provide training and work direction on loading/unloading methods, ensuring safety and proper use of PPE.
• Collaborate with team members, coordinate activities, and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and safety adherence.

What will make you thrive in this role:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, forklift operation, and/or similar machine equipment operation.
• Proven experience operating heavy machinery and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or transportation setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The starting hourly range for this position is $20.00. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
