Software QA Test Automation Engineer (f/m/d)
The Siemens ProductCERT SBOM service empowers Siemens businesses to offer compliant products, solutions, and services while focusing on enhancing incident and vulnerability management processes and workflows. It provides innovative, automation-centric, comprehensive software solutions with API-First designs, capitalizing on modern technologies in software development and data pipeline designs with its cloud-based solutions and scalable applications.
We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Software QA Test Automation Engineer to join us as a core member of our international engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive and automated testing frameworks, extend existing QA processes and ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards.
Ideal candidates will have a robust background in automated software testing and quality assurance, proven experience in enhancing testing frameworks and processes of large-scale software solutions and strong hands-on experience with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
If you have relevant experiences and are passionate about building and implementing robust test automation pipelines and you love digging into software (also through automated mechanisms), finding creative ways to break things (so we can build them better!), and contributing to a seamless user experience through building resilient solutions, then we invite you to apply, even if you don't meet every specified requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and technical specifications.
· Ensure the effective execution of testing activities, following the testing strategy and best practices and standards, by conducting regular review of quality-related metrics and reports.
· Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across different platforms and environments.
· Thoroughly identify, document, track, and retest defects using our bug tracking system, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
· Collaborate with the team to develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites and frameworks, integrating them into our continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
· Explore and establish test automation framework and test automation scripting standards as needed.
· Actively participate in the continuous improvement of our QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Assist in setting up and maintaining test environments and test data.
· Provide complete and well-structured test report for relevant finding during functional and non- functional testing execution.
· Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues related to test automation.
Required technical skills:
· Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
· Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes and practices.
· Proficiency in Python and Typescript for test scripting and framework development.
· Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Cucumber.
· Experience testing APIs and microservices (REST, GraphQL).
· Working knowledge of AWS CloudWatch or similar monitoring tools.
· Atlassian Application Lifecycle Management (Jira/Confluence).
· Knowledge of performance testing and metrics interpretation.
· Experience with automating manual processes targeting human-quality outcomes using different automation techniques, including AI-based approaches.
· Hands-on experience with testing and quality assurance, test case creation, debugging and troubleshooting and quality control measures.
· Understanding of CI/CD processes and Git-based workflows.
· Experience in testing applications deployed on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to details.
Having one or more of the following skills is nice-to-have:
· Experience with Bruno or similar API testing tools.
· Experience with additional automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress JMeter).
· Familiarity testing software solutions built with SQL, NoSQL and Graph Databases.
· Familiarity with several AWS services (Lambda, S3, ECS, etc.).
· Hands-on experience with Docker.
