The Global Head of the Application Center of Competence (APC) and Americas Mid-Market Portfolio is responsible for leading the Americas mid-market automation portfolio for Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings. This position involves providing strategic direction and leadership as the release manager for the Americas Mid-Market automation portfolio, which spans across all portfolios within a system. The role serves as the central driver for ensuring seamless collaboration among multiple product lines, business units, and functional teams. This collaboration is essential for achieving significant business objectives and having a strong market impact. Additionally, the role focuses on fostering co-creation, development, and validation with regional sales and operations stakeholders.

Aligned with market trends and dynamics that drive equipment integration into automation across all market levels, the incumbent will eventually expand responsibilities to become the Global Head of the Application Center of Competence. In this expanded role, strategic direction and leadership will be provided to a worldwide network of HVAC equipment experts, leveraging experience gained from the Americas mid-market. This leadership will shape the application of Siemens technologies to deliver innovative, high-value solutions specifically designed for OEM partners.

This pivotal position leads five Centers of Competence around the world, at the intersection of sales, engineering, and product development. The role drives excellence in technical consulting and application expertise for OEM equipment solutions. By utilizing the Siemens Climatix portfolio and Siemens field devices, such as sensors and actuators, the leader ensures that every solution strengthens customer loyalty, accelerates growth, and achieves the optimal balance of price and performance for OEM customers. Additionally, improved compatibility with Siemens automation systems is a key objective.

The role also champions a unified global approach to application specification and development, promoting consistency, scalability, and speed in Siemens’ response to customer needs. Through visionary leadership and cross-functional collaboration, Siemens is positioned as the trusted partner for OEMs seeking advanced building technology solutions and for Automation Partners pursuing competitive systems.


As a Global Head of the Application Center of Competence (APC) and Americas Mid-Market Portfolio, you will handle the following:

  • Strategic Development and Scalability: Responsible for governing product innovation and overseeing the entire product lifecycle process.
  • Portfolio Management & Prioritization: Align product roadmaps, including phase-in and phase-out strategies, with regional portfolio managers and maintains a strong market focus. Support product line owners in prioritizing initiatives within the portfolio based on strategic value and business contribution, and contributes to overall project and program portfolio planning and resource allocation.
  • End-to-End Portfolio Alignment: Coordinate individual portfolio release managers to ensure alignment across portfolios.
  • Resource & Budget Management: Allocate and manage budgets and resources effectively to maximize value creation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate seamless execution and coordination across various functions, including engineering, business controlling, supply management, manufacturing development, and other critical interfaces.
  • Business Model & Partnership Development: Drive the development of business models and establish key partnerships.
  • Culture & Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of innovation, ongoing process improvement, and portfolio competitiveness.

You’ll make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of Building Automation experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
    • Technical leadership experience
    • Expertise in global project management.
    • Strategic thinking and business acumen.
    • Experience in partnership development.
    • Capabilities in innovation management.
    • Effective cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Understanding of energy and industry-specific codes, laws, and specifications
    • Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated technology concepts simply and concisely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Up to 20% travel required.

The pay range for this position is $188,282 - $322,769 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
