What are your responsibilities?

  • Design the strategy, guidelines and business principles on regional or business level, and coordinate/align subordinate strategies and plans, in support of SMO CHN Management and related executive team.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for SMO CHN Management in all strategic aspects, in order to identify and follow up on future business opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the BUs to observe and analyze the SMO China's business environment (government’s regulations, customers, competitors and trends) and acts as an information hub
  • Develop & manage the relationships with relevant government (NDRC) and strategic partners (CSR, CNR, CRCC, CREC, etc.) for potential cooperation
  • Steer and coordinate preparation and implementation of strategic planning, investment strategies, global market research (including execution of strategic benchmarking), and initiate strategic initiatives of external growth and M&A projects
  • Promote a common understanding regarding strategy and action taken by the competition

What do you need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Engineering or related fields
  • 10+ years of work experience with at least 5 years in strategic planning, business development, or management consulting
  • Excellent knowledge of railway industry
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing business strategies and business development initiatives at corporate or business unit level in the rail industry
  • Demonstrated experience in managing M&A projects, strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth and market expansion initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  •  Advanced English language skills
