We have an exciting opportunity for a T3 Technician to join our Traincare Depot in Ardwick, Manchester. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of Class 185 Desiro diesel rolling stock and supporting activities that ensure the safe and efficient operation of both the fleet and the depot. You will work in compliance with health and safety standards, established processes, and regulatory requirements. 

As a T3 Technician, you will bring proven experience in diagnosing and resolving vehicle faults, ideally gained within a rolling stock, automotive, or military engineering environment.

You'll make a difference by ...
  • Undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan maintenance in accordance with the Siemens Rolling Stock VMI.
  • Undertake train driving within the depot site limits, where necessary and train preparation duties as
  • Carry out download diagnosis and fault finding to an intermediate level.
  • Implement safe systems and controls within the area of responsibility.
  • Understand, implement, and comply with the Siemens Rolling Stock HSEW
  • Raise issues and participate in implementation of agreed Fully participate and engage in RL behavioral safety agenda to ensure you work safely.
  • Monitor compliance to meet internal control procedures and take appropriate corrective
You’d describe yourself as …
  • Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
  • Experience of basic fault finding
  • Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
  • Ability to understand and care for tools, equipment, and PPE
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including biohazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
  • Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault finding and rectification purposes Proven experience in fault finding
