Student Intern – Biomedical Visualization & Mathematical Simulation
We are seeking a motivated student with a strong foundation in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, or Engineering to join our Ultrasound division. The role involves developing mathematical simulations and visualization methods for medical applications, particularly in cardiology. You will be part of a global team focused on creating high-performance visualization engines for ultrasound products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mathematical models and simulations for biomedical visualization
- Analyze blood flow using ultrasound data and advanced visualization techniques
- Prototype and optimize algorithms using Matlab, Python, or C++
- Utilize GPU programming for real-time computations and parallel processing
- Collaborate with team members across locations and contribute to engine development
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, or Engineering
- Specialization in Numerical Methods and Partial Differential Equations (PDEs)
- Solid understanding of Vector Calculus (Gradient, Divergence, Laplacian)
- Experience with Finite Difference methods and iterative solvers (e.g., Jacobi iteration)
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Matlab, Python, and/or C++
- Familiarity with GPU programming (CUDA, OpenGL/GLSL, or DirectX)
- Knowledge of ultrasound flow field techniques such as Speckle Tracking Echocardiography (STE) or Blood Speckle Imaging (BSI)
Additional Requirements:
- English language proficiency at B2 level
- Willingness to work sporadic evening hours
- Willingness to travel once per month to Kosice or Vienna
