What will you do?
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing and supporting manufacturing processes for electronic and mechanical assemblies. This role ensures that production lines operate safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams – including product design, quality, test engineering and operations – to introduce new products, improve existing processes, and support day-to-day manufacturing issues.
This role requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support to resolve daily production challenges.
- Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles.
- Support equipment upgrades and layout optimization to improve flow and efficiency.
- Participate and contribute to DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews & decisions.
- Coordinate with NPI team to ensure a timely and successful product release to production.
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Design new and modify existing equipment using Siemens NX CAD
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials and routings in PLM/MRP Systems
- Support the equipment maintenance program with set up and supply of spare parts
What will you need to succeed?
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or logistics, especially in electronics and mechanical production.
- University degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. P-Eng is an asset.
- Intermediate level experience in a variety of lean tools including but not limited to: Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, One-piece flow, Cell/Line design, Pull Systems & Kanban, 5S/Visual Management, SMED, TPM, Poke Yoke
- Basic level in project management and agile methods
- Intermediate level team facilitation, teaching, coaching, and presentation skills
- Self-directed and comfortable in a direct and candid environment focused on results.
- Experience with NX, TeamCenter, SAP
- Experience with automation robotics, 3D printing, machine design and PLC programming.
Location: You will be required to work from our Peterborough location until such time as operational requirements necessitate your transition to the Concord location.
