This position in Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) is responsible for contract management support to the business – with focus on both infrastructure projects and industrial products – as well as litigation, regulatory and compliance issues.

In your primary role, you will be responsible for the following:

• You will provide professional and proactive support to business and project teams, encompassing the review and analysis of large-scale project contracts, as well as comprehensive contract and claim management. This includes identifying, mitigating, and evaluating contractual risks and opportunities across project, consortium, and subcontracting agreements, ensuring the organization's rights are safeguarded, risks are mitigated, and opportunities are realized

• You will act as a strategic advisor to senior management on contractual risks, opportunities, and claims strategies for various project-specific contracts.

• You will lead and oversee the entire contract lifecycle for large-scale, complex EPC projects, from tender support and contract negotiation to execution, claims management, and close-out.

• You will support the project teams in developing appropriate strategies for handling project claims and opportunities.

• You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and standardization of contract management processes, tools, and templates across the organization, in alignment with global Siemens’ teams.

• You will spearhead the implementation of digital tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of contract management processes.

• You will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of contract and claim managers. You will oversee talent acquisition, performance management, and career development for the contract management function.

• You will manage, strategize and advise on all project litigations and dispute resolution processes. You will be responsible for appointing, coordinating and strategizing with external lawyers across the country for all project litigations.

• You will conduct legal training sessions for business partners on contract and claim management and other legal topics. You will conduct knowledge sharing sessions within the legal team on latest legal developments/ best practices and practical lessons learned.

Additionally, your role would also from time to time include the following:

• You will need to have a high level of business orientation with focus on problem solving while upholding ethics and integrity across the organization. You will also actively participate in team activities and task forces, contributing to the development of internal processes and special projects for Siemens Energy India Legal and the Global Legal Team.

• You will need to manage expectations of multiple business stakeholders at all levels within the organization in India and around the world.

Desired Qualifications & Traits

• You possess extensive experience (atleast 12PQE) in leading and managing complex, high-value projects and contracts, preferably in the energy / infrastructure industry. A law degree or an engineering degree from a reputed law college in India or from a reputed international college or a degree/diploma in contract management is a plus.

• You have preferably worked with a multinational company, collaborating with internationally staffed teams and engaging with international contractual partners.

• You will be our preferred candidate if you have advanced communication and legal writing skills (English), a problem-solving and solution-oriented approach and a dedicated attitude.

• You should be driven by integrity, ownership culture and reliability.

• You should be open to occasional to frequent travelling and like to have fun at work.

• You should be passionate about mentoring and coaching team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
