We are looking for a proactive and research-driven Business Development & Sustainability Specialist to support the organization with strategic analyses, market insights, and data‑driven strategic storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys exploring new business opportunities, conducting in‑depth market research, and contributing to the company’s sustainability and growth agenda.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Strategy, Finance, Sustainability, Sales, and Operations—to drive data-driven decision making and support the company’s long-term development.

What part will you play? 

Business Development & Market Intelligence

• Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, trend analysis, and opportunity mapping.
• Identify new business areas and emerging markets aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
• Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
• Support the evaluation of innovative technologies, sustainability-driven business models, and new service or product concepts.

Strategic Presentation & Reporting

• Develop clear, compelling, and visually engaging presentations for senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Turn complex data and research into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.
• Contribute to annual planning cycles, strategic meetings, and performance reviews.

Sustainability Strategy & Regulatory Compliance

• Support sustainability-related initiatives including CBAM, ETS and EU Green Deal–related regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Contribute to decarbonization projects, ESG integration, and supplier engagement programs.

Research, Innovation & Trend Scouting

• Explore new trends, technologies, global sustainability developments, and market innovations.
• Identify potential strategic partners and collaboration opportunities.
• Provide insights to guide innovation, market positioning, and long-term growth areas.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with various teams to align business development and sustainability efforts.
• Prepare communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in industry events, workshops, and professional networks to gather insights and represent the company when needed.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field. Engineerining is a plus.
• 3–5+ years of experience in business development, market research, sustainability, strategy, or consulting.
• Strong analytical and research skills; ability to connect dots and identify opportunities.
• Experience preparing strategic presentations and reports.
• Knowledge of sustainability topics (CBAM, ETS, GHG Protocol, ESG frameworks) is an advantage.
• Excellent command of English; German is a plus.
• Creative mindset, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative working style.
