- Producing high-quality, compliant tender submissions that clearly articulate the offer and provide a strong delivery baseline.
- Leading cross-functional bid teams by setting direction, managing resources, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring clear reporting and governance.
- Managing client engagement by acting as the main contact, supporting negotiations, and delivering persuasive presentations that strengthen the commercial position.
- Ensuring governance, handover, and continuous improvement through budget control, approval processes, knowledge transfer, and enhancing bid quality and best practices.
What you’ll need to succeed…
- Demonstrated ability in managing multiple bids through governance frameworks, coordinating parallel workstreams across financial, technical, and commercial approvals within structured corporate processes.
- Experience contributing to bids within an engineering or project-based environment, ideally in a regulated industry, with exposure to opportunities exceeding £1m.
- Strong understanding of project delivery in rail or similar sectors, with the ability to challenge and influence inputs across project management, engineering, planning, finance, and commercial disciplines.
- Effective leadership and matrix management capability, with proficiency in engaging with cross-functional teams (10+ people), operate alongside senior project stakeholders, and influence internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, combined with a proactive, high-energy approach, resilience under pressure and flexibility to travel.
Must Haves:
- Bid Management/tendering experience
