In this role you will:

• Lead system-level technical planning and forecasting for innovative Siemens products.
• Guide research and development of future measurement systems and technologies.
• Identify and assess opportunities for device, technology, and process development.
• Develop concepts and prototypes from initial need through to validation.
• Provide design solutions for verification and validation, and support product test planning.
• Mentor engineers on good design and test practices aligned with company procedures.
• Support team professional development and goal setting.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• 5+ years of experience in a product design environment (rail experience desirable).
• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of measurement systems using sensors (e.g., cameras, lasers, strobes, ultrasonics).
• Proven experience managing systems engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Ability to generate ideas and solutions from a clean slate.
• Technical leadership and support to engineering teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
• Familiarity with standards and documentation practices.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
• Ability to manage multiple work streams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
