Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Power Plant TG Hall Layout, Piping Layout, Civil and Structure design inputs, Isometrics and support drawings, Piping BOM with time bound and cost optimization approach.
  • Able to calculate pipe size, thickness, material selection, pressure drop.
  • Have an overview of various types of pumps, heat exchangers, instrument hook up, pipe fittings, valves & specialty items.
  • Able to interpret stress analysis reports for selection and design of critical pipe supports.
  • Support to Bid phase projects for basic Piping & Layout engineering work. Identify and clarify contract ambiguity, prepare CRS, MOMs and collect vendor offers for costing.
  • Review external documents like Civil and Structure arrangement, customer piping layout, cable trays & ducts, to check interface.
  • Working on 3D modelling software CADISON/PDMS/E3D for piping engineering activity. Have exposure of various CAD formats.
  • Exposure to Piping Engineering codes and standards like: ASME B31.1, B31.3, ANSI, IBR, EJMA and associated codes for Power Plant piping engineering.
  • Co-ordination with Customer, PM, Proposals, QM, Factory, Site team and third-party vendors during execution.
  • Contribution for Cost out, Lean process, Process Automation, Digitalization enthusiast.
  • Soft Skill like Self-motivation, Self Initiative, Team player, Influential and Leadership behavior are expected.

Qualification:

  • B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in power plant design
  • Strong expertise in detail engineering, mechanical design and stress analysis
  • Hands-on experience with piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, turbines, boilers and cooling systems
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Rohr II / Caesar II (for piping stress analysis), PV Elite (for pressure vessel design)
  • Evaluate the mechanical behavior of piping systems
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASME Sec VIII, API 610/650, ISO 9001, IBR, ANSI, TEMA, ASTM)
  • deep understanding of engineering principles, as well as familiarity with industry codes and standards like ASME B31.3 and B31.1
  • Experience in rotating machinery selection, vibration analysis and alignment techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to conduct fluid dynamics and thermal analysis for power plant systems
  • Experience with Failure Analysis, HAZOP and FMEA for risk assessment and mitigation
  • Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and construction teams to integrate their findings into overall project designs, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
