Job Description:
Mission/Position Headline: Implements component manufacturing technology policies and standards, and over sees and manages all component manufacturing related engineering activities (e.g. Tool designs, part manufacturing processes design equipment layout, workflow design, and accidental prevention measures), within SI EP Kalwa plant

Areas of Responsibility:

Holds technical knowledge that is both deep and broad and has comprehensive customer knowledge.

Drives and influences technology, technical value streams or technical processes within own field of expertise according to strategic roadmap, impacting the business.

Typically advises and supports manufacturing and plant managemenmt in part manufacturing technology areas

Internationally and externally recognized technology expert in the tool engineeting field who utilizes their network.

Takes responsibility for their technology field including disruptive technologies.

Trains and coaches others in the whole organization in their field of expertise.

Analyzes product specifications, and clarifies product requirements and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D, Engineering and/or Product Management.

Plans overall set up of tools needed for production sequences and processes planned, the devises tool plans for respective machine and equipment formation.

Derives tool specifications, analyses or estimates cost of tool production and respective design changes, and deploys "Make-or-Buy" recommendations and decision memo to accountable management.

Performs the tool design and generates respectives specifications and documents.

Instructs associated Tool & Die Makers, provides construction plans, processes and specifications, and cooperates and advices in any stage of tool production, and approves work deliveries.

Qualifies and evaluates potential suppliers in cooperation with Siemens Purchasing. Instructs and monitors suppliers, and approves work deliveries.

Works with engineering to identify problems with performance or tool life and recommends solutions or enhancements.

Plans and establishes sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products.

Analyzes product specifications, and clarifies product requirements and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D, Engineering and/or Product Management.

Plans overall layout of production sequences and processes, the respective machine and equipment formation.

Derives process and overall equipment specifications, in cooperation with internal Engineers and external service provider and supplier.

Develops detailed process and equipment cost concept, derives cost / benefits and risks scenarios, and deploys decision memos to accountable management.

Evaluates and approves suitable suppliers and service providers for hardware and software equipment, in cooperation with Siemens Purchasing.

Plans the implementation process for new production sequences, in cooperation with locally assigned Industrial Engineering.

May accompanies or contributes to testing and approval of pre-series results, and cooperates with external providers in settling any issues.

Experience with progressive dies and high-speed stamping.

Knowledge of advanced moulding techniques and hot runner systems.

Exposure to automation and robotics in tooling.

Production processes, like high speed / volume moulding, progressive stamping/forming operation, welding, marking, fine-blanking, heat treatment, surface treatment and metallurgy.
