Role Description:
Bid Manager – Modernization and Upgrades for Steam Turbines & Gas Turbines, Small Gas Turbines Applications, Plant Performance Assessment, Thermal Plants Flexible Operations and other Business Growth Topics.
As a Bid Manager at Siemens Energy, you will play a pivotal role in the sales process by leading the development and submission of high-quality, competitive proposals for energy solutions. This role blends technical and commercial expertise, requiring close collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver tailored solutions that support Siemens Energy’s strategic goals.
- Develop a proposal strategy in collaboration with the Sales organization.
- Lead the bid process from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Prepare and compile commercial and technical proposals for offers related to Steam Turbine Modernization and Upgrades, Performance Assessment, Flexible Operations, etc.
- Coordinate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to gather technical and commercial inputs.
- Conduct export control assessments, define scope of supply, pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare Scope of Work as per Customer specifications and Division of Responsibilities between various functions.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, internal standards and Siemens bid management process, till handing over to execution team for project delivery.
- Prepare cost calculations and conduct technical risk assessments based on scope of work and our technical proposal.
- Prepare and maintain detailed bid documentation, including comments and clarifications to customer specifications.
- Role requires product knowledge & experience of Power Plants (Thermal, Gas, Combined Cycle), with design and process understanding of steam turbines, gas turbines, auxiliary systems, and various power plants equipment and systems.
- Have growth mindset to work with multiple stakeholders within Siemens Energy and outside, and ability to handle highly complex agile environment like startups.
We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:
- 1. Overall experience of 8-10 years in areas mentioned above, with at least 5-6 years’ experience in making bids and proposals.
- 2. B.E./B.Tech in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- 3. Strong understanding of bid management processes and tools, e.g., Salesforce, LOA, etc.
- 4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
